一邊寫昨天刊登在「三少四壯集」﹣「時報廣場跨年倒數」這篇文章時，一邊驚訝，這一年真的就要過去了嗎？

時代廣場彩色紙片灑下，揮發過去一年驪歌響起，煙火四射，法蘭克辛納區（Frank Sinatra）的「紐約 紐約」在耳邊的激動仍彷如昨日，而這一年，總算走到最後一天。

好長，又好短的一年。

在The Twelve Days Of Christmas (聖誕節的12天)這首歌裡，聖誕節的第七天，也就是除夕夜，會收到什麼禮物呢：

On the seventh day of Christmas my true love sent to me
就在這聖誕佳節期間的第七天，我的最愛送給我
seven swans-a-swimming　7隻天鵝游泳
six geese-a-laying 　6隻鵝下蛋
five gold rings　5只金戒指
four calling birds　4隻小鳥歌唱

「如果可以的話，真想到紐約時代廣場倒數計時等待跨年哪。」

雖然討厭這件事的人有許多；曾經參與，發誓這輩子絕不會再去的也大有人在。不過，每年歲末時節來臨，看著電視轉播數十萬人擠滿紐約時代廣場等待水晶球下降的時候，大概也有不少人像我一樣這麼想吧。

林肯中心 (Lincoln Center)

除了前面提到的無線電城聖誕奇觀- 火箭女郎秀 (Radio City Christmas Spectacular - The Rockettes)之外，
如果有機會，也想到林肯中心看芭蕾舞劇胡桃鉗。

正是適合在聖誕前夕觀賞的表演。 :)

嗯，還有梅西百貨。

平時雖然幾乎完全不會想逛的百貨公司，每到聖誕季節，還是忍不出走進去看看。

除了聖誕燈飾之外，滿坑滿谷史奴比的誘惑我可受不了。（笑）

上一篇提到﹣"The Tree" at Rockefeller Center (洛克斐勒中心前「那棵」聖誕樹)。

關於這棵樹，還有一些後話。

被稱為"The Tree Guy" 的David Murbach先生，二十幾年來，年年乘著直昇機到找處物色下一棵能成為“The Tree"的挪威雲杉。

「第一眼看到它時，我的背脊彷彿被刺了一下。就是它！」The Tree Guy這麼形容首次見到"The Tree"的感覺。

「就像見到那個生命中特別的人，未來的另一半，那樣的感覺。」

飛機降落在甘迺迪機場，不知不覺，這已是在紐約渡過的第幾個歲末時節呢？

總在感恩節至聖誕節前夕時分來到紐約，或長或短 。

像個儀式似地，我仍像孩子般期待著梅西百貨的感恩節遊行，等在感恩節過後衝進梅西百貨，看充滿節慶氣氛的聖誕裝飾、也看瘋狂搶購的人潮。今年的主角，是史奴比？還是史瑞克？

感恩節大遊行過後，接下來，就是等待洛克斐勒中心前那已有超過七十五年歷史的聖誕樹點燈儀式了。今年的聖誕樹，來自北美那一人家的後院？經過多遠的跋涉來到紐約市？高幾呎、直徑有多粗，又重達幾頓？

是那一棵樹，在眾人期待下從每年數千棵來自北美候選「樹」中得到「洛克斐勒中心選樹團隊」青睬，從『一棵樹(a tree)』，變成『那棵樹（the tree）』？（對，真的有人的工作是飛到各地看樹，選出今年度得以成為『那棵樹』的樹。）

為了成為『那棵樹』，生長在北美的雲杉，是不是從小就以：「我長大之後，要成為洛克斐勒中心前那顆聖誕樹。」互相砥礪著成長呢？

因為各種各樣原因，來來去去紐約。

　像是個客人，又像有半個家在這裡；像觀光客，卻又好像不是。

　終於有一天，我突然想，也許，該是用雙腳走過一次布魯克林大橋的時候了？

　在認識這個城市的第十五個年頭，我突然想，重新像個觀光客似地，再看一次紐約。

　這一天，陽光燦爛，而我居然決定，在氣溫只有華氏二十幾度左右的日子，進行這一場布魯克林大橋散步（一定是被數日前華氏十度的氣溫混淆了判斷能力）。
